چکیده

description for the procedure of selecting independent variables for Cox’s proportional hazards model, and their conclusion of CMB in DPWM as the predictor of subsequent IVH should be verified according to the following recommendation. They conducted a follow-up study over a median period of 23 months, but continuous follow-up is ineffective as the number of total patients at baseline were also limited in their study. To keep a high enough number of events, more extensive baseline data should be set for a stable estimate in the risk assessment of IVH. As they planned an important clinical study on the risk assessment of IVH in patients with moyamoya disease, definite contributing factors should be determined.

Long-term effect of surgical revascularization on silent microbleeds in adult moyamoya disease: A case report

BACKGROUND Recent development of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging has shown that silent microbleeds can be observed in a certain subgroup of adult patients with moyamoya disease. The patients with microbleeds are at higher risk for hemorrhagic stroke. However, the beneficial effects of surgical revascularization have not been established in asymptomatic patients with moyamoya disease. The author...

Rapid Progression of Cerebral Infarction after Intraventricular Hemorrhage in Adult Moyamoya Disease

The authors present a rare case of adult moyamoya disease in which a patient experienced rapid progression of cerebral infarction after intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH). A healthy 39-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with sudden headache, a decreased level of consciousness and mild tetraparesis. Initial magnetic resonance imaging revealed small cerebral infarction and IVH. Although t...

Neuroendoscopic Findings of Ventricular Wall in Adult Hemorrhagic Moyamoya Disease: Report of Two Cases

Moyamoya disease usually manifests as ischemic events in childhood, and as more severe hemorrhagic events, including intraventricular hemorrhage, in adults. Recently, the indication for neuroendoscopic surgery has been extended to cast-formation intraventricular hematomas. However, detailed information about the use of neuroendoscopic surgery for the treatment of intraventricular hemorrhage ass...

Refractory High Intracranial Pressure following Intraventricular Hemorrhage due to Moyamoya Disease in a Pregnant Caucasian Woman

Intraventricular hemorrhage during pregnancy is usually followed by a poor recovery. When caused by moyamoya disease, ischemic or hemorrhagic episodes may complicate the management of high intracranial pressure. A 26-year-old Caucasian woman presented with generalized seizures and a Glasgow Coma Score (GCS) of 3 during the 36th week of pregnancy. The fetus was delivered by caesarean section. Th...
